Bruges’ Catholic Traditions
Salve Maria!
I thought I would share this video of the Procession of the Precious Blood they hold every year in May in Bruges, Belgium. Every year on Ascension Day, the Procession of the Holy Blood passes through the historic city center of Bruges. The Procession of the Holy Blood was created in 1304 as an expression of gratitude and faith.
The biblical narrations constitute the basis of the procession. The first one represents the Old Testament, from Paradise to the Rorate caeli. Next comes the New Testament, from the Birth of Jesus Christ in Bethlehem to the Pentecost. The third part tells how the relic of the Holy Blood ended up in Bruges. In the last part, the members of the Noble Brotherhood of the Holy Blood accompany the shrine in which the precious relic is stored.
More than 1800 participants sing, play music, dance and act. The style of the procession goes back to the medieval time when guildsmen, craftsmen, brotherhoods and rhetoric chambers were responsible for the performance of the scenes. The Procession of the Holy Blood is an event that still moves the whole city.
It is the hometown of my husband, and he remembers it well!

Five Years in Prison for Protesting against Abortion
A young lady was sentenced to about 5 years in prison for trying to stop a woman to enter an abortion clinic in Washington DC. Further, she found in the clinic's waste aborted bodies of babies.
For these two “crimes” she received this absurd punishment.
The US is getting worse than Hitler’s Germany…

Testimony on St. Anthony’s Protection
Ave Maria!
I would like to share about a favor received from St. Anne, St. Joachim, St. Philomena, and St. Anthony.
My friend sent me a package through postal service and two mistakes were unintentionally made by her and as a result the package was in the process of returning back to sender.
I initially asked for the intercession of St. Anne, St. Joachim, and St. Philomena to assist me to receive the package . Later I read the article “My Reel Which Went Viral" by my friend in which it was mentioned about “SAG" custom. I thought it's better to add St. Anthony as well with the other saints.
I promised to honor him, give testimony, and observe his feast day in great way with other Saints and also to distribute images of the Saints to whomever I will send packages next time.
Things became even more difficult, but still I hoped and put my confidence in and asked Our Lady to help me. As a result my friend's and my prayers were answered.
When I received the package, they attached the copy of the email sent by my friend and she mentioned SAG below so it got marked by SAG if one would think.
Truly Saints are powerful and even more powerful when a group of Saints intercede for us.
Friends who carry faith within themselves help us to reach heaven. We must ask for true traditional Catholic friends.
Your work is truly commendable!!

Douay-Rheims Uses 7 Times ‘Good Success’
I have seen priests and laymen who call themselves ‘Traditionalists’, in the many attempts to derail devotion to Our Lady of Good Success, say that the term "good success" is not used in English or is not good English.
Also, these same people say that the meaning of "good success" refers more to "winning the Lottery" or "making a killing in the Stock Market," i.e., financial or monetary success.
The seven passages below, from the oldest Catholic Bible in English, refute both objections.
Around the same time Our Lady of Good Success was appearing in Quito, Ecuador (1594-1634), the Douay Rheims Bible, the first official English translation of the Bible,was being printed (1582-1610). In this Bible, the term "good success" appears 7 times:
- “And the messenger [sent by the king] that went to call Micheas [theprophet of the Lord], said to him: ‘Behold the words of all the prophets [blinded prophets] with one mouth declare good [victory in battle] to the king:
I beseech thee therefore let not thy word disagree with them, and speak thou also good success.’”
2 Paralipomenon (2 Chronicles) 18:12] [The king was slain and his men fled and scattered as Micheas foretold.]
- “I will give glory to thee because thou hast heard me: and art become my salvation. The stone which the builders rejected; the same is become the head of the corner. This is the Lord's doing: and it is wonderful in our eyes. This is the day which the Lord hath made: let us be glad and rejoice therein. O Lord, save me: O Lord, give good success.” Psalms 117:25 [A prayer for good success and salvation in the face of rejection.]
- “Joseph the son of Zacharias, and Azarias captain of the soldiers, heard of the good success, and the battles that were fought.” 1 Machabees 5:56 [hearing of the good success and battles of Judas Maccabeus]
- “GOOD SUCCESS BE TO THE ROMANS, and to the people of the Jews, by sea and by land for ever: and far be the sword and enemy from them.” 1 Machabees 8:23 [a public and historic document of alliance wishing good success to the Romans and the Jews resulting from the victories and wisdom of Judas Maccabeus.]
- “Therefore they now, carried boughs, and green branches, and’ palms for Him that had given them good success in cleansing his place.”
2 Machabees 10:7 [good success in cleansing the Lord’s Temple which had been defiled by ‘heathens’ and ‘barbarians and blasphemous men’]
- “And having good success in arms and in all things he took in hand, he slew more than twenty thousand in the two holds.”
2 Machabees 10:23 [good success in arms and all things Judas Maccabeus handled]
- “And having filled the camp of the enemies with exceeding great fear and tumult, they went off with good success.”
2 Machabees 13:16 [good success in causing fear and tumult in the enemy camp]
We see that those who oppose the term “good success” used in English are not correct. They may have some ulterior motif to sabotage this beautiful invocation.
Dear TIA, keep up spreading the devotion to Our Lady of Good Success. She certainly will reward you to make it known all around the United States.

Your Mussolini response brought it mind Ben Shapiro's attack on Christ the King.
I'm making a t shirt with Christ the King on it.
If I was Cristero in 1920s would it have been Catholic to very respectfully refuse to lay down my arms? Thus was not a universal command. And isn't self defense and defense of Priests, Catholic Church required of men? What was this about?
I'm so saddened as seeing Mexican martyrs of this time period.
