'Franciscan' ballet for Pope in Luxembourg
At Notre Dame Cathedral in Luxembourg city, on September 26, 2024, a ballet in honor of Francis' Encyclical Laudato si was performed for him.The dancers were Catholic students – adults and children – trained by Deacon Diego Lima, the lead dancer, Sister Ana Santos, represented Mother Nature, fifth row below, along with pastoral assistant Sara Ferreira.
The theme was supposedly the life of St. Francis of Assisi, stressing his love for nature. Six laymen performed wearing the Franciscan habit as theater costume.
The bad notes in the performance were the desecration of the Cathedral with dance, the disrespect for the Franciscan habit that took place right in front of the Pope, and the effeminate gestures of the male adults
