Nuns enjoy NCYC in Long Beach
In an optimistic ambience that included Protestant-inspired songs, rock music, dancing nuns and girls with electric angel halos floating over their heads, the National Catholic Youth Convention – NCYC – took place in Long Beach, California, from November 10 to 12, 2022.Under the pretext of attracting youth to the Catholic Church, the New Evangelization of JPII with its World Youth Days and its national conventions, like the one in California, actually present a distorted image of the Catholic Faith to the youth.
These gatherings make multiple concessions to the modern world – bad clothing, customs and music to name a few. Also, their way of presenting Our Lord Jesus Christ and their way of worshipping Him are inauthentic.
Indeed, in "finding Jesus" – so praised in the talks and sermons! – what a young man encounters is the "good guy Jesus" who comes to tell the youth that he is fine the way he is. The "great change" of life is reduced to a youth saying "I love Jesus," and then continuing to do the same as he did before – all with the blessings of the progressivist clergy.
This Christ is not the real Christ Who invites us to follow His Way of the Cross by living a life of sacrifice as He showed us in His Passion and Death: "He that taketh not his cross and followeth after Me, is not worthy of Me." (Mt 10:38)
The example of these nuns shows us how far away from the Cross this New Evangelization is.
