I thought you might like to see how another "humble" Cardinal campaigns for Pope.Below is the Archbishop of Lyons and Primate of France, Card. Philippe Barbarin, arriving at the Vatican on March 6, 2013, for the pre-Conclave meetings being held there.

Excuse me, wasn’t Chavez a committed communist and socialist??? Our churchmen treat him much better than they treat traditionalists, don’t they?

For his part, the secretary general of the Venezuelan Episcopal Conference, auxiliary Bishop Jesus Gonzalez de Zarate of Caracas, made an appeal for “national unity” on addressing the “painful event” of the President’s death. “At this time, let us all express are best sentiments,” said the prelate in a phone interview to the television program “Hello Citizen,” of the local channel Globovision. The bishop then reminded that “death is not the end of our life; death opens the way to a fully happy life, with God our Father.”

Regarding the Death of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez

March 7, 2013 - Catholic Online (www.catholic.org) Not surprisingly, Hugo Chavez departed this vale of tears on the 60th anniversary of the death of Joe Stalin. He will not be missed.

HAMILTON, ONTARIO, CANADA (Catholic Online) - Venezuela President Hugo Chavez was a communist dictator whose heroes were Fidel Castro, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Robert Mugabe, and Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. One of his major goals was to integrate Cuba, Venezuela, Honduras, Nicaragua, Bolivia and Ecuador under one Marxist-socialist government umbrella.

During his tyrannical tenure, violent crime was rampant in Venezuela, with extrajudicial killings by security agents a recurring problem. The minister of the interior and justice estimated that police committed one in every five crimes.

Throughout his reign of terror, Chavez sought to suppress religious freedom by destroying the influence of his main opponent, the Catholic Church. He did this by designing a law that ended traditional government subsidies to Catholic schools and ended the right of children to receive religious education in government-run schools.

The Inter-American Human Rights Commission also accused Chavez of massive violations of human rights, the destruction of democratic principles such as the separation of powers, judicial review of acts of state, and the rule of law over the will of the president.

In addition to harassing political opponents, President Hugo Chávez's government systematically undermined journalistic freedom of expression, workers' freedom of association, and the ability of human rights groups to promote human rights.

Not surprisingly, Hugo Chavez departed this vale of tears on the 60th anniversary of the death of Joe Stalin. He will not be missed.

Two churches are presently for sale on Ebay. They are St. Bernard Church in Branderburg and St. Maria Goretti Chapel in Loitz.

St. Bernard can be bought for 120,000 euros and its advertisment reads: "Church in popular housing area. Whether for meeting rooms, a clinic, office or meeting place, everything is feasible with the agreement of the local planning authority." This means the agent is willing to sell the church to become a place for business, a restaurant or a night club.

The Captain left the Barque of Peter as it was sinking with no thought to the safety of those still on board. Moreover, he was one of the main reasons causing the leak leading to the Barque taking on water.

At a time when the world needs the stability of an authentic Catholicism, Pope Ratzinger decided it was time to cut bait and run, i.e., he gave up!

Saturday, March 02, 2013, 15:07 London: The Vatican authorities have revealed that former Pope Benedict XVI spent his first night in retirement watching TV after dinner and having a stroll around his new house.

Archbishop Georg Ganswein, his private secretary, said that the Pope Emeritus, as he is now known, had also "slept well" after watching TV news bulletins.

He disclosed the details of the 85-year-old ex-pope’s new life in a telephone call with Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi, Sky News reports.

According to the report, Father Lombardi said that the pope was very appreciative of the reports, which covered his last few intense moments.

He had dinner and then went for a walk inside the palace at Castel Gandolfo, in the Hall of the Swiss and then afterwards he prayed and went to bed, he added.

Father Lombardi also revealed how the Pope Emeritus had brought with him several books to read on theology as well as music to listen to, the report said.
