On April 15, 2006, Holy Saturday and the Vigil of the Resurrection, Benedict XVI delivered a homily at the Vatican Basilica in which he presented the Risen Christ as part of the process of universal evolution. He also interpreted Baptism as man's ontological insertion into a new stage of the evolution.
His words are so clear that they allow little room for dispute or excuses. This homily is a landmark on the progressivist path of Benedict's pontificate.
It is an official pronouncement professing evolutionism and modifying Catholic dogma to fit this theory. This position was condemned by St. Pius X in the Encyclical Pascendi with these words:
For the Modernists, "to the laws of evolution everything is subject under penalty of death - dogma, Church, worship, the Books we revere as sacred, even faith itself. "
We photocopied the original text of the Homily as set out by the website of the Holy See. We underlined in red the parts referring to evolution. The original text is available here.
