Cantemus Domino is an ancient hymn of praise sung by the Jews after the passage through the Red Sea. God leads the Jews out of the land of capitivity and smote the Egyptian armies that sought the destruction of the chosen people. As the Jews were delivered from the hands of the Egyptians by passage through the Red Sea, so too are we delivered from our sins by the Christian passage through the waters of baptism. The shedding of Our Lord's blood, the red sea of Christianity, saves us from the ancient enemy of the Devil. Let us sing the praises of God, for it is in Him alone that we should trust.
Cantemus Domino is a hymn sung for Lauds on Maundy Thursday of Holy Week. This hymn is also one of the traditional Jewish hymns of the Passover, and was the song sung by Our Lord and His disciples at the Last Supper.
It is sung here by the Norbertine Fathers of St. Michael's Abbey.

Latin Lyrics:
Cantemus Domino: gloriose enim magnificatus est:
Equum et ascendsorem dejecit in mare.
Fortitudo mea et laus mea Dominus:
Et factus est mihi in salutem.
Iste Deus meus, et glorifica bo eum:
Deus patris mei, et exaltabo eum.
Dominus conterens bella:
Dominus nomen est illi
Translation:
Let us sing to the Lord: for he is gloriously magnified: the horse and the rider he hath thrown into the sea.
The Lord is my strength and my praise: and he is become salvation to me.
He is my God, and I will glorify Him: the God of my father, and I will exalt him.
The Lord if as a man of war, Almighty is his name.
