Esoteric innuendos of Fr. Pontifex' ministry
Above top, we see a large monstrance with the Holy Host that has been placed in an abandoned warehouse, its walls covered with graffiti. The monstrance sits on top of some type of "table" near a cement structure filled with trash and curled pieces of iron. In the photo below it, we see two silhouettes emerging from fire and smoke, one of them hooded. Are we seeing pictures of a Satanic cult gathered to desecrate the Holy Eucharist? It is the first question that comes to mind.
No, this is not an official profanation of religious values and symbols. It is the new ministry of "Fr. Pontifex." The person who bears this strange name in the rap music world is Fr. Claude Burns, the pastor in good standing of Holy Spirit Parish in Evansville, Indiana.
But the bad impressions of Fr. Pontifex do not stop here. He relishes giving an occult air to his "pious" performances of rap music. Indeed, first, as a secular priest he wears a normal cassock without a hood. His appearances with a hood seem calculated to confer a macabre air to his "rap ministry."
Second, his companion in art is a singer who wears a gray toque with a yellow, green and red stripe at its tip. These are the fashionable colors of the Rastafarian cult, which took its colors from the Ethiopian flag. This cult, born in Jamaica in the 1930s and popularized by Bob Marley, preaches the return of the black people to Africa and considers Haile Selassie I, the late Emperor of that country, to be the messiah. So, the association of Fr. Pontifex with a fan of this cult, added to his strange stage name, can indicate that he considers himself the "pontiff" of this new religion.
Third, in the fifth row below, we see Fr. Burns wearing strange goggles with a type of magnifying lens attached to it, which seems to imply that he adheres to the occult science fiction genre called "steampunk," similar to what has been glorified in the Matrix series.
These are some of the esoteric innuendos of Fr. Pontifex' ministry...
We do not believe that Bishop Joseph Siegel of Evansville is concerned about any of this. Instead, Fr. Pontifex may quite well receive the praise of Pope Francis for this new way of ministering in the peripheries, and might even be invited to sing at the Vatican...
How long, O Lord, how long?
