A ‘joint service’ for Luther at St. Louis Cathedral

The 500^th anniversary of Luther’s symbolic act of revolt – the nailing of his 95 theses on the church door of Wittenberg – has been celebrated by conciliar Catholics all over the world. Our country is no exception to this offensive global trend.

On October 29, 2017, Catholics and Lutherans gathered at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, MO, in a joint “prayer service” to “commemorate our past and look ahead toward the greater visible unity of the Body of Christ.” Above, Lutheran ‘bishop’ Donald J. McCoid and Bishop James Massa of Baltimore march together into the Cathedral, while singing.

Instead of reaffirming the condemnation of Luther and his followers and stressing the singularity of the Catholic Church as the only Church that teaches the true Faith of Jesus Christ, these progressivist Prelates saw it fit to praise Luther in a relativist “dialogue event,” complete with sentimental singing, hand-shaking, and candle-lighting.

During this event, Archdiocesan Vicar-general Monsignor Denis Stehly welcomed Catholics and heretics alike into the St. Louis Basilica. “‘We are here because of our common belief in God’ and ‘to pray together as one,’ he said, asking for all to be one with God in Heaven.”

Such Prelates equate truth with error when they say Protestants share a “common belief in God.”

How can we Catholics say that Protestants share a “common belief in God” with us when they deny the one true Church founded by God, the papacy of the Vicar of Christ, the apostolic succession, the intercession of the Saints, the Virginity and Queenship of Our Lady, the existence of Purgatory, the importance of Tradition, the Sacraments and the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist?

How can we Catholics say that Protestants believe in the same God when they promote the anti-Catholic ideas of the primacy of Scripture over the Church Magisterium and that we are saved by faith alone and not by works?

How can we Catholics say that Protestants believe in the same God when, among their 30,000+ denominations, there are contradictions and ambiguity in doctrine to the point where Protestants themselves can’t decide exactly what “truths” they believe in?

Furthermore, how can we Catholics say they believe in the same God when today many of Protestant sects are promoting the ordination of women as “pastors” and all sorts of debauchery, including divorce, homosexual “marriage,” contraception and abortion?

No, we do not share a common belief in God with Protestants. Protestants do not and will not share a common belief in God with Catholics until they convert to the One True Faith, because they are actually worshipping the Devil himself.
