Methodist woman 'bishop' invited to the 2012 Synod
Above first row right you see Methodist "bishop" Sarah Frances Davies, present at the Catholic Synod of Bishops in the Vatican, which is closing today. Davies was invited as a "fraternal delegate" to represent the Episcopal Methodist African Church. In the category of "fraternal delegate" she is invited to have an "active participation" which includes speaking at the Synod. This takes place at the moment where the so-called Anglican Church is preparing a general meeting under the direction of Rowan Williams to officially approve "women bishops" for all their Anglican/Episcopalians factions.
It seems difficult not to see the Vatican invitation to Sarah Davies as a preparation for accepting the coming decision of the Anglicans. It is also difficult not to see in it a preparation of public opinion to accept women priests in the Catholic Church.
