In St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Atlanta, Georgia, dances during Mass became so common that a Liturgical Dance Group was founded. Above and below first row, you see photos of one of its performances during Mass. Encouraging this movement is Fr. Timothy Gadziala, the pastor, whose photo can be seen in the last row.

This innovation of dancing during Mass was repeated on a larger scale on February 23, 2008 when five parishes gathered at Sacred Heart Church to commemorate the contribution of African-Americans in the Catholic Church. The parishes were Sacred Heart, St. Anthony of Padua, Our Lady of Lourdes and the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

Although TIA views the struggle of Black Catholics against a long and unjust Protestant-inspired discrimination with sympathy, we have to disagree with bringing progressivist fashions into the Masses, such as what we see in this page.

A church must be a place of respect befitting the presence of Our Lord in the Holy Sacrament, and of recollection for the faithful so they can elevate their minds to God. Artistic dances may be appropriate on other festive occasions, but not during the renewal of the Sacrifice of the Cross.

Our Black Catholic brethren should be aware that they are being used by progressivist priests to foster an anti-sacral Vatican II agenda that has little to do with their authentic contribution to the Church.
