Brazilian Bishops support Communist candidate for president
Above you see Archbishop Moacyr Vitti of Curitiba, Brazil, officially receiving ex-terrorist candidate Dilma Roussef at the Archdiocesan Palace and offering her an orchid. Also present were Auxiliary Bishop Rafael Biernaski and Emeritus Archbishop Pedro Fedalto.
Brazil's first round in the general election for president is taking place today, October 3. If one of the candidates does not receive more than 50% of the votes, a runoff election will be held on October 31 between the two candidates who received more votes. Although Roussef is ahead in the pools, she barely has the needed percentage. One understands, therefore, that the support of the Bishops is decisive in the country with the world's largest Catholic population.
The photo is symbolic of the Brazilian Episcopate's compromise with Communism, even in its more radical forms. We hope that lay Catholics will see this betrayal and not vote for this candidate.
