Papal Ballerinas

Papal ballerinas
We know of sultans who have odalisques performing dances to distract them. We know of pagan kings like Herod who used to enjoy seeing ballerinas perform for them. We don't know of one saintly Catholic King, however, who ever had this entertainment. As for a Pope, it was inconceivable that any would indulge in such practices.

It was necessary to reach Vatican II and the progressisivt reforms it carried out in the Church to see such a practice introduced habitually for the Pope's distraction.
