Pope Ratzinger waiting his turn at the synagogue
On August 19, 2005, Benedict XVI listens to a rabbi before delivering his message to the Jews in the synagogue of Cologne. In it he says:
"Today, I wish to reaffirm that I intend to continue with great vigor on the path towards improved relations and friendship with the Jewish People."
Indeed, so far he has not skipped a single opportunity to praise and favor Judaism.
It was the second time in History that a Pope stepped foot into a synagogue...
