Benedict XVI greeting Buddhists
It is becoming routine for Benedict to greet Buddhist monks on his walks in St. Peter's Square. Above, on June 21, 2006, he warmly shakes hands with what appears to be an old Tibetan monk, while the younger monk offers him a Buddhist book.
To introduce Buddhist monks in the common relations of a Pope tendencially tears down the wall that separates Catholicism from that false religion. Consciously or unconsciously, it is a way to make Catholics lay down their guard against the errors of Buddhism, and favor its dissemination.
It is an initiative that is occuring more often in Benedict's pontificate,
and it should not pass unnoticed by Catholics.
