Farewell
Farewell to a Dear Lady
Tradition in Action has the sorrowful duty to inform our Readers that we lost one of our dearest members, Mrs. Mary Frances Horvat, who had been our Treasurer since TIA was founded in 1997. To her daily assistance and prayers TIA owes a great deal. In decisive phases of our life it was thanks to her moral encouragement and material help that we were able to continue our fight for the restoration of the Catholic Church and Christian Civilization.
When it came to the publication of the book In the Murky Waters of Vatican II, it was her generosity, along with that of Prof. Remi Amelunxen, that allowed the work to come to light.
She was very close to her daughter, Dr. Marian Horvat, who dedicated to her the book Our Lady of Good Success: Prophecies for Our Time, and it was she who also funded the first and second editions of this work.
Mrs. Horvat shared the same concerns about the Revolution in the Church and Society as all of us here at Tradition In Action. She offered her prayers and sacrifices for the defeat of the Revolution, the intervention of Our Lady and the installation of the Reign of Mary, which she ardently desired.
For a long time she had been preparing herself to appear before God. She received the last Sacraments – Confession, Communion and Extreme Unction – and her last words were: “Pray for us,” in response to the invocation “Our Lady of Good Success.”
Mrs. Horvat passed away on Spy Wednesday, April 5, Feast Day of St. Vincent Ferrer
Angel of the Apocalypse, at 9:20 a.m. at the beautiful age of 92, at her home in Lansing, Kansas. Since the Church does not perform Funeral Masses during Holy Week, her Mass was today, April 11, at 10 a.m.
at St. Philippine Duchésne Catholic Church in Mission Woods, Kansas. Her burial will be tomorrow at 10 a.m. at Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
Mrs. Horvat leaves behind her children Jane, Marian, John and Leo and six grandchildren, all practicing Catholics.
We ask our Friends, Readers and Benefactors to pray for the eternal rest of her noble soul.
May she, by the mercy of Our Lady of Good Success, from the place where she is, continue to help us who remain in this valley of tears fighting for the victory of the same cause to which she so generously dedicated herself.
Fidelium animae per misericordiam Dei resquiescant in pace. Amen.
Requiem aeternam dona ea Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ea. Resquiescat in pace. Amen.
